Good luck with that.
Steve.
lol i know where you are coming from steve but fortunatly i have an entire engineering workshop at my disposal.... bridgeport mills... lathes accurate to 1000th of an inch... drill press's... mig welders and tig welders... my parents business
And my car is a daily driver, but i have two entire sierra's at the moment rolling chassis wise.... i also already have a drop pitman arm... so, im going to do the spring perch's with this new jig ive bought, sort out the steering and shocks... and brake lines... and drop it all in in a weekend or two
Why do you think im driving around with 2inch lift in the front and not in the back yet? lol i fabbed those sway bar extensions up in about an hour and a half

Not to be rude but you can have all the fancy equipment in the world at your disposal which doesn't mean squat if the build/modifications are executed poorly without much forethought. Those sway-bar extensions may work ok but they stand out like dog balls! A solid block of alloy in between or an extension and strengthening of the shaft holding the bush end may have been a lot easier to conceal as well as fab up for example.

a lick of black paint and they wont be so noticable.... also they arent structual, as someone pointed out here before most people do away with them all together... they are designed that way so with two nuts and two bolts the whole swaybar and mounts can come away in a jiffy when i go off road and put the bf goodrich AT's i have on
But i do understand what you are saying JrZook, which is why i OVER engineered those sway bar brackets.... i could have tack welded a thin bit of plate to a bit of rectangular tube etc etc etc... but instead i went to the extent of drilling and threading those two round bits of zinc plated bar you see... and then using high tensile bolts out of each side... 8x25mm bolts... and that bit of plate ive adde on is 8mm thick mild steel... WAY OVER KILL! it was a 1.5 hour job as i previously mentioned... and i used what i had available to me without purchasing anything... the zinc plated round bar is actually a pin from an otto bin.... the flat plate was laying around the factory... the bolts are new
As for the diff perch's... i wont be welding them myself i have someone to do that for me....

Im currently surrounded by numerous CNC and manual machining equipment. Doesnt mean any less thought. Has to go into my car. Some of the best performing cars offroad are built on a dirt floor with a 5" grinder and a mig.
wasnt appsies made with a 5inch, bender and a mig and thats basically it? thats mad.
I feel this is another ill f:#?!ing show you silly cunce how to build a good sierra cos ive got a million dollars worth of lathes n shit thread. anyone else?
So you have a fully equipped engineering workshop at your disposal and that's what you came up with for sway bar extensions. They may be overkill but they don't appear to be over designed, maybe its just the pic.
So do you plan on going spoa with two inch springs ? And how do you plan to fix the steering ?
Have a look through the build threads, start with Appsies, Mr Greens, Gwagonsteves etc all were built in backyards with a lot less tools then you have.

Ive already got a dropped pitman arm... or theres always those Z link's... like what rocky road sell...

I figured you probably would, based on the rest of your setup its a good choice.

worried about the underside getting dirty is not a valid reason for all that lift on small tyres. i suggest your read some of the builds on here, you need to....
seeing you have all the fancy tools... why not do a virtual lift.

also This is running 32's and no lift, Its also 1ltr but thats fine as it has reduction gears... drives silly lines and is pretty dam capable... Even that low i can do this
u need probably 4 inches of lift to clear that, (if you dont hack shit like i did) adding SOA onto that will just end up on your roof etc

Haha 8 inches of lift for 32s is just silly. I have 4 inch total and have 33s and mine is proberbly considered to much lift.
would you recommend i just get some of those 6" calmini springs instead? and yes im being sarcastic.
Haha I actually do have calmini springs
On the off chance that you aren't trolling
This is approximately 2.5 inch springs, 1 inch shackles and 1 inch body lift. Fits 33s with the only issue being the rear fuel filler, easly sorted with a hose clamp.
