How do I adapt the shafts of a vitara manual box to a twin hilux transfer ? Is there an adapter kit ?

Probably easier to get a Ring-R adaptor to a toyota 5speed, then a marlin twin transfer kit for the hilux transfers.

As Fatzook said, it'll be a lot easier to use a RingR.

There is a RingR adapter going cheap in the Getting Rid of Stuff section. Look for a post by Kerrod.

I'll get some measurements of mine from front pulley to rear output of transfer and compare it to a stocko WT tintop I have.
From memory my setup is only 75mm or so longer than stock.

I just measured a stock WT tintop... From front of bellhousing to rear output flange of transfer is 1100mm
My setup with an extra transfer and two adapters is 1155mm


I wouldn't say it is too long for a SWB Sierra. The only drama is the lack of offset on the rear output meaning you'd have to run a Vitara or Hilux rear axle assembly.

It replaces the Vit transfer with a single Landcruiser unit... No idea why you'd want to do that except the possibility of reduction gearing which I'm pretty sure is also available for Vit.

twin vit boxes will be challenging, and vit low ratio is 1.82 from recollection (so it isnt gospel etc)
high-high = 1:1
high-low = 1.82:1
low-high = 1.82:1
low-low = 3.31
Ass loads of work for low range of 3.31
You would need to cut down the 1st vit box, and weld the aluminium, back up
make an adapter plate, and an adapter or possibly get a new spline cut on the output of the first shaft (so it will fit into the input of the 2nd vit box)
Bit like this, but more work, for less gain

What about twins to the auto? Could you do twin lux pretty easy because of it being close to the toyota auto?

On a side not I read you can get a commodore v6 to bolt up to th aw4 and toyota auto box with the rodeo 3.2 auto bellhousing
