I have swb vitara and would like to add another guage, I have bought new temp sender but their is 2 in the of them just wondering what the other one is for thanks

On EFI cars one is for the gauge the other is for the ECU.
On carby cars one is for the gauge the other is a pollution control item.

Ok thank you mine is carby so theirs no way I can pull the pollution one out and put aftermarket guage sender in it ?

Do you have extractors on yours? If so then the pollution stuff is doing nothing

Vitaras have a temp sender to shut down the aircon pump, and run its fan only, if motor overheats.
It looks the same as a gauge type, but operates differently.
Unsure if carbed Vits have them.

I pulled mine, used it for a 2nd guage.
Wired original override into a switch.

They sender closer to the firewall is the water temp sensor. The one closer to the radiator is associated with the air conditioner.
I recently-and wrongly-replaced the a/c sender with a water temp sender and found that as soon as I started the car the thermatic fan that cools the a/c condenser came on.
I don't know if you can do what you want to do.

I put a proper temp sender in its place, for my 2nd gauge.
Then I ran the hi temp cut out wire thru an earth switch.
I just throw switch when I want extra radiator cooling without ac.
Down side being if it overheats it wont don't it automatically, I have to do it.
