Sam, try the pull one bolt trick - it will totally transform the car.
Even if you put rubber bushes in the front, I reckon you'd need a swaybar in the back to get the roll stiffness in the rear to match the front, which is the big downfall of the coiler.
Steve.

Or you could pull all the bolts out and see how well it fleximus's then , wont help you solve your problem but it sure would make for some fully sick mate photos

Steve.
I think it is pretty close now steve, i changed the rubber bushes into it on friday out at my mates block. i was driving over some obsticles and the front was moving alot better, the rear is very stuff because of those poly bushes and was actually surprised with the movement i was getting from the front and how stable it was feeling, ive never really felt the front moving before, i think i could go longer shocks now easily aswell.
the only problem is the softer bushes have highlighted some other issue with the front suspension and i am now getting bone rattling death wobbles which try to throw me into oncoming traffic .... it's really really bad
here are the arms now.
I checked the front wheel bearings and king pins and they have no play at all, the castor angle was compared to a standard coil sierra (spent hours trying to find one lol) and they are exactly the same, so we got the arms right the first time, the toe seems to be right, the panhard bushes are fine so the search continues for the sierras motive to kill me..
i have one leaking front shock but i can't see the causing the wobble to the extent that i am getting it, it really does nearly throw itself off the road, nearly cleaned up a car ! anyways new shocks are on the way but yeah..

also other than the death wobble issue, it drives just as nice on road as it did, it's actually much smoother over bumps

do a front to rear tyre rotation, you may have lost a lead or have a bubble in ya tyre. at the least it will rule out tyre issues.
this bubble made my sierra do some freaky stuff

the big bubble on the top right quarter of the tyre.
sam, have you checked your front disks to see if they are warped?

Well not pointing out the obvoius but one of them is a crowbar. Are you using JoshNZ as a technical adviser?

lol..
anyways i put a whole set of stocko tyres on it, and no difference just a bit less severe due to less weight...
ans don't think it could be disks because you don't feel it in the brake pedal while it is doing it and ive never had and brake issues

Steering damper? Rubber bushes damaged? Grasping at straws 'cause I can't think of anything to suggest, Sorry Sam!

are your hubs locked? you might have to use ball's method of fault finding.
drive it until something brakes and then fix it.

Shot in the dark but try these , have your front brake discs skimmed and have your front wheels balanced.
All tie rod ends, wheel bearings and kingpin knuckles should have no wear or movement.
All suspension bushes must be in good order.

hubs aren't locked, they don't have a steering damper and all they do is pretend to hide problems anyways, rubber bushes are fine all bearings and everything are fine. Ive tried two sets of wheels and it's not related to braking and the disks are not warped..
We are re measuring and changing the castor, aiming for between 5.5 and 7 degrees and seeing how it goes, right now it is nowhere near it so we must have stuffed it up when we made the arms, the poly bushes have just been hiding it. Wednesday is the day, the diff brackets are going to be modified. by redrilling / changing the holes we can adjust and test castor settings untill it drives well.
anyone who knows anything about this more info the better

I think that steering damper is a worthwhile addition.
Our totally stock Jimny had bad vibration straight off the showroom floor. Hence nothing to do with worn or modified anything.
My Jimny had the same problem which I had assumed was due to bigger tyres.
Both cars were fixed with the addition of a damper kit.
I don't know why they don't come with dampers straight from the factory.

yeah dampers do have their place, and i do have one i can put back on, but this is not a vibe or a little wobble, it literally throws your hands off of the wheel and is not safe to drive.. it's serious enough that i am taking my dads car to uni and he had to ride his trail bike to work lol

I think you are onto it Sam... Caster needs increasing. I believe you need about 7 degrees.

how does your steering wheel sit when u drive straight or on an angle??
and how long since ur last wheel alignment with the bigger tyres??
our jimny gets severe death wobbles with the bigger wheels if we dont get a wheel alignment every 6 months, just had one done and 2 new front tyres put on and a 60k service, car is running like a dream no wobbles at all it so smooth i almost dont wanna take it on the snow and ruin it ha ha ha ha :D but nah i have to play lol
howd u go with the flex?

wheel alignment on a jimny should not change like ifs cars do, there is only a toe adjustment...steering wheel on mine is straight but the only thing that can effect that if your pitman arm is centred when your steering wheel is centred, is the length of the drag link, which i adjusted for the lift...
AND Jas, at the moment it is nowhere near 7 so that's what we are chasing hoping that's the issue.

its a harmonic based on some random weight and spring of something, the rubber bushes have changed this
until you get the death wobble youll never understand that its not out of balance tyres or wobbly discs or king pings, no shit you will rip the front diff out if you have the strength and room to hold it straight for long enough
damper between the panhard and steering arm, its not a bandaid its dampening a harmonic vibration thats the only thing that would fix mine

If it is shaking/shimmying/wobbling AND not centreing itself after a turn I guarantee it is a caster issue.

yep you know the type of death wobble i'm experiencing lol, i'll be fixing the castor because i do normally have a bit of a centering and shimmying sort of issue i just ignore when i had poly bushes. and if that doesn't stop the death wobbles i will stick my damper on the way you have described..
