I recently bought myself a pipe bender and had a go at making a front bar. Thoughts? things I could think about before making a rear bar and sliders?

Looks alright. Have you got photos of the mounts? How is it attached to the chassis?

ill have to go take some.. I welded tabs on so it bolts onto the existing bumper mounts and then made brackets up so it also bolts onto the nudge bar mounting points I had. figured it should be plenty strong enough as im not winching off it

Looks pretty good mate, nice and simple.

Hard to tell from the photos but are the outside corners collapsed a bit? What bender and what dies are you using?

Have a look at some of the other Vit threads for some mounting ideas - most of us whack an additional M12 or two through the nubs at the front:

Are your bends actually crushed?

Nice simple design, And well executed, but I'd have another go at the top bar if I were you. Those bends are completely collapsed, and will offer very little protection without bending further.

Yeh the corner bends are a bit crushed. Ill have to work out how to make work better. One idea I've been given are filling the pipe with sand.. Anyone tried this? I'm just using a cheap 12T press bender. It's 2inch pipe about 3mm thick.

U can do more of a sweeping bend by doing a few bends 50mm apart

The problem is the die. They are a poor fit. Buy yourself a quality Dawn die for your bender.

Thanks guys. So filling it with sand won't work! I'd imagine it would be very hard to force the bend.. I looking into making a 2inch exhaust so it would be good to get the bender working well. Should be able to get away with more sweeping bends for that though I hope. Still haven't had a chance to get some photos of the way I mounted it. Works been crazy
