just put on a new case due to cracked one. and i cant figuar out where the 3 little steel balls go. ive read the trail creeper transfere case rebild and i can only see 2 dent balls.

so where the fuck does this 3rd one go?

Put one ball in first with spring. Than fit the rod. Than fit second rod. Than fit last ball externally. Leave the middle ball out.
You will than Have the ability to select 2low.
Very handy.

Are you sure? This is how I did it. Spring,ball, 4wd shifter fork,ball,low/high shifter fork,ball,spring then plug. To put the 1st ball in I had to use. Screw driver to hold the ball down while I put in the shifter

That's correct.

Leaving the middle ball out is an option though.

What's the problem? It sounds like you've done it right.
