Just wondering what sort of exhaust/muffler/cat to run in the LJ
Do 79 model rules apply or the engine year 93?

year of engine in QLD. You'll need a cat.

Muffler choice is up to you, but obviously there are noise restrictions.

2" press bent will be fine. Fit a chambered muffler, not a straight through one, and you'll be fine.

Got all the bits to finish the exhaust this weekend. Is there a desired length from the extractors to the cat or doesnt it matter?

I was afraid of that, there's not a lot of room between the LJ rails. I'll see how I go - might be able to jam it up there

When I built my exhaust the other week out of bits from both the Sierra and the stock exhaust I took from the baleno, I mounted the cat as close as I could get it to the extractors but up between the rails so that it wouldn't rip off, this may even be back behind or level with the transfer. Hopefully it's all good like that otherwise it will get torn off just by looking at it...

Well I had slow progression as I said before there is not much room. Is there a smaller cat that I could use other than the vit one?

Yes, for sure, but they get very pricey

Unfortuntaely it doesnt give a size, but if those are 2" pipes, then thats quite small overall. and only $110.

I just good an answer back about the cat it's 6x3x11 compared with the vit one which is 7 1/2 x 4x13 so this might be the trick

I wonder if the hi flow might be too trick for the 1.6
