I would advise against this as all the foam cell I have used has eventually wicked with water and started leaking when you drive in wet conditions. Rubber strip would be a better alternative. Bunnings has that sort of stuff.

Good quality high density foam won't absorb water.

I used some black high density foam from foamworld or whatever the place is called, I told them exactly what it was for and they said the same as want33s.
Rubber or foam, take your pick, don't make it too thick though or you will have issues with that as well, and make sure you go right across and then along the bits that come back towards the cabin a little bit, otherwise it will pour in there instead.

Same story I heard from the clark rubber stores I went to. Ended up with high density neoprene foam tape, 5mm thick. Drive up the highway in heavy rain for an hour or so and it eventually wicks through it's cells. Same with the eva "closed cell" foam tapes or what ever else they sell.
I initially thought it was just leaking between the foam and the windscreen surround, so once it started leaking I pulled the windscreen frame and found the foam tape to be saturated. Run your finger over it and water streams out.....

I'm now using this sponge seal http://www.clarkrubber.com.au/rubber-an ... -seal.html the whole outside of the seal is fully closed. No more water wicking issues and a dry car
