Hi,
Looking at making a set of rock sliders for my Jimny and was just wondering if anyone has dimensions or plans in order to make a set. Any help with dimensions or plans would be really appreciated.

there's 2 ways of going about it, body mount mounted, or chassis mounted.
i recommend going chassis mounted, having had body mounted and they cause other problems.

If you work out a decent way of attaching them to the chassis then let us know. I ended up welding mine on.

I really like the way they have been mounted in the link Monley posted. I dont think they would cause problems.

I really like those sliders, might be the way I end up mounting it. Although I may make them a little bit more horizontal so they can still be used as side steps.

Seriously thinking of mounting them the same as the ones in the link that Monley posted.

Monely's link to them sliders don't work btw.

Thats my car before I bought it and I had to remake them due to the flex and them popping the door cards off.

Ah ok, scratch that idea then. Maybe I could just use 3 u clamps to attach it. I'll have to have a look on my Jimny though and see if I can

Another one or two rails to the chassis wouldn't hurt including the bodymounts and if your running full plastics they would be off the door moulds more. I made them up high because the plastics were trashed/missing

its a better way then mine which were attached like this

the BlueSuzy method is what they should have been all allong and now im annoyed that i fergot about it....

Thanks for that Jezza, looks like that'll be the way I go, I'll add two 'u' shaped clamps in the middle too for a bit extra strength.

Mine are bolted to threaded plates (plate to plate) that are welded to the chassis. This allows easy removal and I have never stretched or stripped a bolt. Very solid.
