Intend to replace water pump on my 1996 EFI 16V Vitara (Pump has been been rattly for a while now) Want to know if I have to remove & replace Timing Belt at the same time or can I just replace the water pump without having to pull timing cover & replace belt etc Also intending to replace radiator at same time so should it be necessary to remove timing cover etc I would then consider replacing timing belt etc. Thanks Dusty
best to do timing belt at same time as you have to pull cover ect off, so might as well do it at the same time. not a hard job to replace both then its done for 100,000kms

the timing belt tensioner bolts to the water pump so yep you have to pull it all off, its not a big job though if you are familiar with timing belts consider replacing the cam and crank seals while you are there
