As most of you know im looking at a h27 for my buggy.

to broaden my search a bit I'm trying to figure out what's the same and what's different when it comes to H J and G series motors.

What I know already.
* G16 and J18 and J20 bell housings are the same pattern and bolt up
* G16, J18 and J20 are different to H20

* J series motors have an 8 bolt pattern on the crank where the fly wheel/ flex plate goes.
* G series all have a 6 bolt pattern on the crank

* J18 fly wheel is the same thickness and diameter as the G16 flywheel. (bigger than a G13 flywheel)
* J20 is bigger than the J18 fly wheel.

Some points i'd like to find out if I can

1. are the H series cranks the same 8 bolt pattern as the J series
2. do the H series autos use a combined ecu/tcm or are they separate the same as g16 auto tcms.

It may depend on the market the car was built for, but as far as I know, it's a combined PCM (powertrain control module), but, the transmission is the same so you could use the G16 controller once you work out how the two communicate - if I recall correctly there was someone on here building a circuit to do just that..
