This might seem a bit noobish but no amount of searching has revealed an answer.

Helping a mate with putting a g16b vitara engine into a sierra. What have people done to get bonnet clearance without running a bodylift?

It clears a standard Wt bonnet without issue.

Really? Mines dropped down and crossover intake pipe only just clears the bonnet. It might depend on which variant of g16b as to which manifold clears the bonnet. My engine is bolted in the the engine mounts that come in the low range offroad conversion kit. They were sold to me separately.

A Jimny or Baleno Inlet Mani had more clearance than a Vitara one.

Nope. If it did I wouldn't be asking the question.

Jono how did you drop yours? Custom engine mounts or purchased from somewhere?

Just cut a hole and put a big scoop on the bonnet

If you adjust the latch right up space the rubber stops on the corners and lift the bonnet at the bolts also oblong the holes a bit to gain some more. Other things o done was trim the area around the idle screw so its flush and remove the bracket and screws from the front of the intake manifold.
Hope it helps mine is the ben T kit with no body lift
