Hey guys so atm iv got 32s on my sierra with 2" springs and 3" shackles and I hate the bloody things make the ride so stiff and no flex!! I wanna go back to near stock shackles. I'm not that keen on a body lift and was thinking of chopping the gards does anyone have advice on running 32s without scrubbing? And advice on hard chops ect? Pictures would be great! Just need some help

We did the guards on Zook 1 while we had it in bits sorting rust.. Made a couple of changes to the suspension as well But as mentioned above , correct offset can go a long way to getting good clearance..

That's purely dependent on wheel offset, bumpstop spacing, diff position etc
De-rate the spring packs to just the main leaf and flex the car out, Cut until the tyres don't touch anymore.

greavesyzook wrote: How much should I cut out for 32s? As per Blkfxx, there is no correct answer. It always fascinates me when I see people do bodywork before they get tyres. A sierra with stock bumpstops and RUF with correct shock lengths but offset rims and 32 11.5's will need much more cutting than a car running 7.50 16's with limited droop, bumpstop spacing (and/or body lift) and neutral offset. Buy the tyres and rims and flex/cut/space/repeat. Theres no other way I'm afraid. Remember too you can adjust axle position by redrilling spring pads and plates, which can allow you to cheat some room around the firewall. Steve.

What, spend eight years building a completely impractical car you never drive? (That's harsh, I'm still quite find of Piggles, however, I haven't done any work on it for a long time and the less time I spend working on a car the less I'm interested in it. I think it's time to lower it a bit, that'll get me fired up again.

I have 32" simex and ran them on no lift with a ruf. Only rubbed if i was at full front flex and steering at full lock. The rubbing was on the spring and -35 rims help but move the rubbing to a slight bit on the front guard. Took the lazy way and got a body lift and all sorted till i tackle the rust and virtual lift

I own three, a type 3 1.0 trayback with no engine/gearbox/transfer, a completely disassembled 1.3 LWB styleside, and Piggles. There are two other sierras at my place I don't own, an almost complete heavily built 1.0 trayback and the trolley tug.

I've owned a bunch of larger 4wd's but I exclusively drive with other Suzukis. Big cars aren't capable enough in the terrain I like to drive to be bothered driving with- progress is too slow and get stuck too often.
Steve.

I didn't realise you were in Victoria? You should consider joining the Suzuki club.
