Now I'm pretty sure this question gets asked a lot but I haven't found any recent threads on here about 1998 - 2005 GV rims and aftermarket rims that will fit, from what I've found so far it's mainly just the offset that stops the rims from fitting (because suzuki likes to be difficult )

However I just found a car on gumtree with some sunraysia rims on it? Check it out and give us your thoughts about fitment etc. I already sent the guy a message about where he got them from, hopefully he'll answer

"16x7 Dynamic rims. -13 offset. Have to grind calipers the fit"

Don't really want to be doing stuff like that to the car though. Good thing my GV came with nice rims anyway

Unless I'm mistaken, it's not the offset that causes the issue, it's the profile of the rim - offset makes it less of an issue.

Absolutely it's that. The profile isn't quite right in order to clear the front calipers.

And yes, klutched ground down his calipers. I can't say I am personally a fan of that idea, though. It also stands out like dogs' balls if anyone was to take a wheel off and look at your brakes.

Wheel spacers are the easiest solution but are illegal. A 15x7 10p rim will fit with a 40mm wheel spacer so a 16x7 wouldn't need much to fit. Maybe a 25mm

What do you want to achieve with the new rims? larger diameter tyres for ground clearance? Fatter tyres for mud? Fatter is hard on the GV to achieve without scrubbing. But larger diameter isn't too hard if you select a tyre with a rounded profile like a Bridgestone Dueller 689 for example. But it'll be rubbish on anything other than Highway or Sand.

Ummm - an SQ series GV with 17" rims standard? Not to my knowledge and my parts catalog does not have any numbers for a 17" rim on that model.

This issue is, IMHO, the biggest PITA regarding the SQ series cars. Next to impossible to find a rim that will fit over LWB brakes & provide something usefully different from the Std 16 x 7 rims - all 5door wagon & XL-7 in Aust, had 16 x 7, as far as I have been able to find out & I've tried & tried to come up with something.
There is one steel rim design (5 oval holes) & 5 alloy rim designs (including XL-7) but they are all the same 16" x 7" & same offset.
This restricts tyres unless you get crazy with a grinder to either the bodywork, or as mentioned, the calipers.
225/75R16 is a comfortably nice fit with a little bit of suspension.
245/75R16 or 215/85R16 will have clearance issues & chassis rub, but manageable with a bit perseverance & care.

Chassis rub is easy to fix . Just add rack limiters on the rack. Its juat a plastic shim that clips on behind the rackend. I know ford sell them overseas so they might in aus. Dont know if they fit but a aftermarket one might.
