An engine which is just out of specs for a compression test should not feel like it has a lot less power or use an excessive amount of fuel.

regarding the cat , use your borrowed laser temp sensor . do a good run at least 10 mins at 80-100 km/h measure the temp pre and post cat. by nature of how the the cat turns noxious gases into environmentally friendly gases the outlet should be hotter than the inlet. usually a blocked cat will come up with a p0420 efficiency below threshold error

pull the spark plugs and post a picture .

Sometimes a o2 sensor or coolant temp sensor will cause it to run rich but not throw an error code.

Do you have access to a scanner. check coolant temps according to the ecu are what they would be in the motor. view bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 1 sensor 2 o2 sensor data and check they are oscillating between .1 and .9 volt.

was your air filter dirty before you replaced it?, was it sealing properly is there any sign of unfiltered air past the air filter into intake? try cleaning your map sensor with air flow meter cleaner.

just throwing some ideas out there.

Has your driving style or driving routine changed are you doing more short harder runs than extended highway driving.

Are your brakes dragging ?

have you put on 20kg since becoming a great overlord/dictator?

These are the original plugs, done 53000km. The ones in it now have only done 300km and look pretty new.
Will see what the temp thingy does when I get a chance. Don't get a day off for a few weeks so may take a bit.

Pretty sure that my scan tool will get the volts of the O2 sensors, balls program did a O2 sensor test and I think they came up ok.

Rear bar sold about 4 seconds after I decided to sell it. Will strip everything out and trade it in stock. Only thing I can't put back on is the front bumper
Because I put it under a tree and set it on fire to teach the flying foxs a lesson for shitting on my cars. Must have worked because they never came back.

I broke my work car today so drove my jimny for a bit. Noticed an occasional miss on a steady throttle, going back to thinking it is fuel related. Pressure test kit turned up today so will give it a whirl when I get a chance.
It's got lots of bits so hopefully I can work it out.

got beached as on a rock. In a paddock of heavy gayanus so couldn't see the rocks. Oh and there was fire everywhere so was
fair up it. Didn't think I did any damage until I got onto the highway and tried to go over 40kph. Was a very slow trip back to town.

But I often wonder what people in jimny's get fuel usage wise. I get about 300k to a tank and that's riding it onto the red empty line with about 4-5L left in the tank.

Yeah that is what I am thinking. Possibly also I expect to much after going to small wheels and stock gearing after having 30% reduction as it went very well with the previous combo.

Also our fuel is extra shit at the moment. 95 has nearly no smell and appears to have nearly no voc fumes. Might get some more avgas and see how it goes

My brother gets the same as you. Because he's one of those people that like to play silly buggers he tells me he gets an indicated 330km before he's pushing.

VVT manual Jim, Maxxis trepador in 30*9.5, 3 inch lift and vvt auto transfer case.
