G'day,

Have an 83 Sierra. When accelerating/driving there is a deadset annoying squeak coming from under the car.

Appears to be close to directly under the front seats or close enough.

Put clutch in and roll and the noise goes away?

Any suggestions or ideas?

Cheers,

Geoff

Thrust bearing
Gbox out and replace

That’s consistent with a uni that’s dry and close to failure.

Stuffed thrust bearing would make noise when the clutch is pushed in, the opposite to the problem OP is having.

I had squeaky unis on the jack shaft. Sounds exactly like the problem he's having.

Yeah I've had them squeak like OP is saying. Both times just 1/4 of the uni was dry and there was no play.
