Been doing some work on my Baleno conversion lately and ran into the need for some ring spanners which I don't have a full set of as yet.
Just wondering for work primarily on the Sierra, and I also have a Hilux now, would offset or flat ring spanners be the most useful?

Flat. I have a couple of offsets just because I collected them over the years, but where access is tricky flat works best.

With 10,12,14,17 flat spanners you can pretty much consider your sierra tool kit complete. A 10mm pipe spanner can be handy for brake lines but not a necessity
* unless your zook was a farm car in which case ol mr farmer has probably added an assortment of imperial nuts/bolts into the mix

I use two sets, ring open ended to loosen, then ratch to take off.

A 10mm flare nut wrench for brake lines is absolutely vital, I'd suggest. I imagine Dave already has one though

Flat all the way, the long ones are pretty good. We have a set in the workshop that are flat but on a pivoting head, they're quite handy.

I use my offset ring spanners far moar than my ring/open end spanners

In my opinion ya need all of them. I have stubby in flat and offset, long flat, normal lenth flat, flat ratchet, off set ratchet, flex head ratchet, open ended, ring, combo open and ring. Prob more but you can never have enough tools

That's alot of tools Shep.
I have metric socketry, and flat open end / ratchet combo spanners.
For now I think I'll go for a set of flat metric ring spanners - but yeah the more the better if you can afford it.

Haha narh, I have more hand tools then ball. He has the big expensive tools.
